📥 Incoming Calls — How to Control and Customize Call Handling

📌 Purpose

The Incoming Calls settings allow you to customize how your IP Centrex environment handles calls — from using a unique ringtone for internal calls to enabling group pickup.

Incoming Calls Parameters

Column Description
Ext-to-Ext Call Distinctive Ring When enabled, internal calls (from phones within your IP Centrex system) use a special ring pattern instead of the standard ringtone. This helps users identify if the call is coming from a colleague or an external number.
Group Pickup Turns on the Group Pickup feature. When activated, phones within the same IP Centrex environment can answer each other’s incoming calls using a special prefix code.
Group Pickup Prefix Only available if Group Pickup is enabled. This is the special code that users dial to pick up another phone’s ringing call.

🔑 Example

  • Group Pickup Prefix: If you set the prefix to 801, any user can pick up a coworker’s ringing call by dialing 801 on their phone.
  • Please note that some IP phone brands do not accept dial codes for paging. In these cases, the key button must be programmed on each device to allow paging calls.

⏸️ Call Parking — Put Calls on Hold and Retrieve from Any Phone

📌 Purpose

Call Parking allows a user to place a caller on hold (park the call) and then resume the conversation from any other IP phone in the same Hosted PBX environment.

Call Parking Settings

Column Description
Call Parking Enables or disables the Call Parking feature.
Park Prefix Available when Call Parking is enabled. Enter the code users will dial to park a call.
Release Prefix Available when Call Parking is enabled. Enter the code users will dial to retrieve (un-park) a parked call.

🔑 How It Works (Example)

Example Programming:

  • Park Prefix: 700
  • Release Prefix: 701

📞 How to Use It:

1️⃣ During a call, transfer the call to the Park Prefix + Parking Space Number.

  • Example: Transfer the call to 70010 → this parks the call in space 10.

2️⃣ Anyone on the Hosted PBX can un-park the call by dialing the Release Prefix + Parking Space Number.

  • Example: Dial 70110 → this retrieves the call parked in space 10.

Our support team recommends that you request the programming of a parking button to park, retrieve, or monitor parked calls.

Benefits

  • Flexibility: Park a call from your desk phone and pick it up from another location.
  • Shared Access: Any authorized user can retrieve the parked call.
  • Smooth call management for busy teams and reception desks.

🎙️ Call Recording — Record and Review Conversations Securely

📌 Purpose

The Call Recording feature allows users of IP Centrex services to record their phone conversations for playback, training, and quality assurance.

📌 Note: Additional charges may apply. Please contact your UsVox Sales Representative for pricing and activation.

🔑 Where to Find It
